The Restaurant Association of South Africa (RASA) has awarded The Corner Post one of the top 100 Restaurants for 2010. We also won the RASA Rosetta Award for Best Restaurant and won runner up for Service Excellence.
The Corner Post Bar & Dining Room is just that: a beautiful bar with a relaxing lounge and dedicated kitchen for bar meals and snacks and a full restaurant with inside dining, a deck for outside dining and a quiet garden dining area.
There has been a restaurant at The Corner Post since 1997 so the restaurant is an established part of Howick; the new owners took it over in August 2008 and, after extensive renovations re-opened at the end of October 2008.
The Corner Post is a local bar and restaurant in the best sense, using local ingredients wherever possible as an expression of the ‘terroir’ of the KZN Midlands. There are many passionate and knowledgeable producers in the area, some of whom are accredited on the menu and more who are not. This not only ensures freshness and seasonality but also helps with food miles. We endeavor to do our bit for the environment by recycling, using solar water heaters, providing waterless urinals and using only biodegradable chemicals for cleaning.
The beating heart of Corner Post is all about superb food, fine drink and fantastic service.
